Commentator - the 7 year old New York bred gelding - made his seasonal debut at Gulfstream today winning an optional claiming race by 14 lengths and setting the mile track record at the track at 1:33.71 - the one-turn mile course being used originally at the 2005 meeting. Trainer Nick Zito made his usual "God Bless America" comment in the winners' circle after the race.

The connections of owner James Scatuorchio and trainer Todd Pletcher sent out a very impressive debut winner in the 3 year old filly Back For More - a daughter of More Than Ready who won a maiden race wire to wire under Johnny V.
